I received my decklid yesterday and was looking for some good pointers before I get started. This lid is an older one so the qtr ext's are bond on not bolt on. Any pointers there would be great. Did anyone have the bond on style? I was thinking of using a popper and leaving the trunk lock off any one do this? Does anyone know a good website to read over before I start the fit and bodywork to this piece. I would like some pics for inspiration also if you got them.

thanks

do you know who made yours? We have put a Meirs deck lid with the spoiler on our 65. Our extension panels are bolt on - is probably the major difference. If you checkout my other responses to the question regarding fitment, it may help you. On ours, we had to add 1/4" to the left side. I did a fairly large writeup in one of my posts about how we did it. Unfortunately, pictures I don't have. I would suggest that you talk to an automotive supply regarding bonding materials to bond the end caps to the quarter panels. There are some good adhesives available, but it has to be done correctly or they will fail later - not desired. Feel free to contact me for any help I may be able to provide

no I got it from some guy and he did not know the brand. he had sanded on it some already and the decklid looks pretty good already. I will not have to ad any fiberglass to it. The fitment of it is superb for fiberglass. The qtr ext's will take some work. Does anyone have a suggestion for a bonding agent. I'm going to talk to my painter and see what he recommends. Do you guys think I should take some bolts and bond them on the ext's like the newer styles are? I need to get a trunk seal before I align it. Could I use a piece of the old one to get the gap set?

When I said check with an automotive supply, I meant automotive PAINT supply.
