What you guys think? And yes, I will be painting it, but not for a little while. At least it's lighter though, and the ram air hood is functional.

Can't latch the hood yet, the metal bar that the latch grabs fell off, so right now I'm gorilla gluing it back on. (well, letting it dry)

Opinions?

I like it...because it's close to the color of the car. I would still paint it though...the trunk at least. But then what's the point. The composite trunk was light to begin with.

Not crazy about the style off hood scoops though..but your car.

I personally would have done wheels first

The factory trunk was relatively light, but the carbon fiber one is MUCH lighter. There is no comparison.

Wheels are next, or gears, not particularly sure yet.

Def wheels.

Your car looks like a V6 that someone put GT emblems on the side of now.

I wouldnt glue that back on!! Your gonna regret it when your hood flies open while your driving!! Send it back to vis and get another one, or if they wont do anything for you get some hood pins. Like the hood though, My car is true blue and I left it (2000 cobra R) unpainted and I think I get more compliments on the hood then anything else.

I have hood pins! Lol, probably should have mentioned that. I bought Moroso aluminum hood pins a few months back, they are getting installed as soon as I get tags on the car.

It won't be painted for a while, but I would ultimately like to see it all black again. I was going to get silver letters for the rear bumper where it says MUSTANG, but now there is no way. I'm leaving them black.

Eventually it will also have smoked headlights and black wheels. So it's going to fairly murdered.

Yeah, your 100% right. Wheels will help. But I invite someone to run their mouth.

"Dude, is that a V6 with GT badges? YOUR AN IDIOT!"

"You caught me! bet it's faster than your honda though."

"Yeah right, let's go right now!"

If you park it outside get a cover for it because vis hoods fade hella fast. My old one turned yellow in six months or less. I now cover it when I drive it to work and my new one hasnt faded at all. Just got a dd though so I dont have to worry about it. A cheepo walmart cover for 39 bucks works great.

I think it looks great man! IMO carbon looks nice on dark cars, thinking about getting a CF hood myself. Rims would really wake the car up looks-wise!

I think most V6 Mustangs nowadays are faster than most Hondas in general anyway though. Especially the S-197 V6s, they are pretty close to stock 99-04 GTs.

But anyway so what do you do if the person running their mouth to you drives a Terminator??? Lol.

I was really considering that, but I got this hood and trunk both for $750. They were still in brand new condition, and the previous owner payed $1,100 for them. I thought it was too good to pass up, and I'm yet to be disappointed with my purchase. (Minus the fact that my hood just won't latch, but I know that will be resolved.

I would highly recommend spraying your hood pins with clear coat before you install them, otherwise they will rust...i got the nice FRPP hood pins and even they started rusting after a couple months...

That being said I would definately paint hte trunk lid, you could probably pull off not painting the hood but like everyone else says your car is BEGGING for some nice wheels! Some 18" saleens would look good on there...

Take the side GT emblems off and put the running pony emblems on. Then drive around with your fog lights off and you'd really pull the V6 look off

My car looks like a GT...and yet when i took my GT emblems off (fenders and trunk) and put the running pony emblems on the fenders....i used to get the "Is that a V6?" thing all the time..even with my loud exhaust.

I ended up putting the GT emblems back on...even though they are fugly as sin
