i had the opportunity to by a MINT all original 88 saleen about 5 years ago. it was burgundy with the gold decals. 12k original miles, not a damn thing messed with on it....the problem is that it would have been my daily driver, and i was in the military at the time still and had no garage to store it in, and would have probably put about 18k miles a year on it til i had the cash to buy another daily driver. they wanted 12 grand for it. i kick myself in the ass over it now! some idiot bought it and start hacking it all up the very same week..... i was sad

all saleens are numbered on the drivers front bumper, even if someone messed with a saleen they surely would not be stupid enough to peel that off, but i have been shocked by stupidity before

How do you know this is a Saleen? And why the HELL would he ruin a Saleen (if it is one) like that????

Wow, would you believe i agree with you on this one?

The hood rims, and tailights are tragic.

Saleen kit and cobra rims are a mismatch.

And pistonhead, foxbody saleens are still worth a fair amount, especially a good condition convertible. Remember, back in the day you could get an lx mustang for $13,000-17,000 new. And saleens were only high 20's. Not 50,000 like they are now.

Try finding an SC, that would be the white car, with gray and yellow, they are good for $25-$35k.
SA-5, i think went for $40,000.
SA-10, who the hell knows, but it's a friggin lot.
Black verts similar to the one in the poster have sold easily over $20k
Along with some of the mint condition original 85's.

It's like anything else, mileage plays an important role.
IMO getting 10,000+ for cars with 100,000 miles is alot of money. Foxes were more of a drivers car than the new ones, the newer ones seem to be more for collectors or weekend guys.

Look here, mark has some of best saleens around.
There are 2 beauties on the first page, and an sc on the second, all very high dollar foxes. You can buy a small car for what just the rims on the black vert go for these days.

Ok maby he just found a complete saleen interior and skirt package and even a saleen leather knob. I'm almost positive when he opened the door earlier today there was a white badge that said something like " modified by SALEEN" the gauges were 200 MPH saleen gauges.

I only looked for 5 min and found that stuff, I know what intake you are talking about. Im just saying that it seems to me its more logical that someone would take a vert and put a few saleen things on it then them modding a saleen.

I know what you mean but I think it was a case of owning a Saleen not realizing what they really had and modding it a bit and painting it. Like I said this guy bought it the way it was from a guy he knows. I am taking a friends truck to get a few dents fixed and I will see if I can get pics of under the hood the int and the door jams

Get a pick of the rear brakes. You can tell a little more by that. I am leaning toward it being real. The offset of the rims to fender look a little suspicious to be your average '94-'98 setup, but I could be wrong. Of course that doesn't stop anyone from finding an LSC and stealing the rear setup, I guess.

I could really care less if it's real or not. It looks pretty good, minus the tail lights. Every one is freaking out about it being a Saleen, but no one cares when a '93 Cobra is modded. That makes sense. Both are pretty rare.

Ummmmmm, because if it is a Saleen.... it's worthless now as a Saleen. A Fox Saleen is something you don't mess with like that. It has nothing Saleen LEFT on it. Wheels, side skirts, Rear bumper... WHEELS, the Decals! There is seriously no way that's a Saleen... No one in their right mind would do that to a Saleen.

Hey there Poopie, let me answer that last question for you.

If it is in fact a Saleen, it has these mods:

Wheels - check, I'd do that.
Hood - check, I'd do that.
Removal of gay # stickers - check, I'd do that.
Possible repaint - check, I'd do that.
Tail lights - OMG those are retarded!

I wouldn't have gone with any of the exact items on that car, but I would certainly change that stuff if for some reason I bought a fox Saleen.

Actually I would change that stuff if I bought an SN-95 Saleen too.

For that matter, I would change that stuff on a brand new Saleen ten minutes after I drove it off the lot.

And of course mine would be imediately stripped for paint too.

I am of sound mind!
I am of sound mind!
I am of sound mind!
I am of sound mind!

he has those brake dust cver shield things on but I did look from the back and there is a set of discs back there and the backspacing looked a bit much. I did see some airbags in the rear too. Tires were Nitto 555

Since you don't like saleens, why would you pay extra to get one? This is really a hypothetical question that you really can't answer because you would never buy the car in the first place.

The bumper number and stripes are gay huh?

I think you could of bit a bit nicer and said you would never buy a saleen, so you really don't care.

The real point here is that you don't pay extra to buy a more unique car, and then remove the stuff that makes it more unique.
