88 GT with T-Tops and a SVO mid spoiler.. dunno why its on the car. 460ci w/ cam, msd ignition, headers, 3" exhaust all the way back into flowmaster mufflers and needs some paint! soon to come though.

hah, probably not till next year. I still have to get a cam in it since the one that is in it now is bad. Car runs but makes a backfire type noise in teh exhaust, he checked the rods (i think thats it) they weren't loose and they are in great shape so its the cam.

I'm going to splash some paint on it also before I really take it out. I have the primer already, and just ordered two spray guns off ebay (came as a set of 2 w/ pressure regulator) so as soon as those come in, I'll primer it up and then save up some money and buy the paint.. for whichever color I'm going with. :hmm: I like the sonic blue, but I just don't know yet.

You sure the poppin' is just strickly related to the cam...hmm...what cam you going with to replace it...?

I forgot what the mph was, but he did run a 10.57 on the stock transmission that was slipping. So its probably around 110mph ? I'm not sure. It has a custom built C-6 tranny in it now and its very very solid. I figure the car as it is with a good cam can go 10.30.. or around that anyway. I cannot wait to get it all painted and running. Spray guns should be here next week, and on goes the primer on the fenders. thats the only place there isn't primer. just bare metal that is starting to rust in spots. anyway.

Is it just me or is stangnet dead as a doornell if you aren't popular ?

I doubt the cam is causing popping out the exhaust... more likely a burned or bent valve... or timig related..
do a compression test and see whats up..

He checked everything out and everything is good. Nothing bent or burned. As for the spoiler. The guy has 2 SVO's.. so I assume it came off of one of them.

Well, 10.5 is around 12.5 for quarter mile. So it is over 100mph, but I don't know exact.

well.. thanks.. i guess. haha, It'll eventually get paint.. and it doesn't exactly sound like a sleeper .. I need to get some good tires on it. but money money money.

His car should have no problem running 10.8 in the 1000ft which is how long the track is measured for. We know each other personally and the car is a beast, even though I haven't seen it since he got the intake/heads and a whole bunch of other stuf.f but w/ afr's and his driving skills ( ) he can get into 10's.

Well when I go the 23rd (like I'm planning)...I wont' get no 10.8...I'm going to spin like crazy with these low treaded tires (you know I'm still running the same tires on my car that I bought them on...lol... ...but I'm going to look at the mph to find out what it is capable of...I know with a good tire (drag radials) and some practice...I can get a mid-10...though it may not have the mph that you got (yours would be faster )

No, I sold that piece of crap. Lost intrest in redoing the interior. I went to the track last night to see what mph the 10.5 cars were running, and it was between 98 and 105mph.. but it was import night so not many real cars were there.

Hmm...well I guess I will see what mph I run...and make a guess...a guy from my town ran a 10.6 @ 96mph...but he was on E.T. streets...You know Matt (he has a 00 Gt now w/ a 5spd) and he got 92mph ...with just dumped flows...
