So our friend just purchased the '99 35th annv and is cloaning it to be a Cobra R. We borrowed the wing for some pictures, What do you think? Erics throwing the idea around of leaving it wingless or do the same wing?

I like it Misha. Have to leave it red. It goes well with the Sonic Blue.

Please Please Please

No wing! Part of the appeal of that car is it's simplicity, and the stuff like the wheels and hood add a nice accent to an otherwise simple look. I wouldn't change a single thing about it as it sits.

Just my 2 cents. What do I know about style, I drive a fox body!

Wing or no wing.

Yeah, the red goes well with the sonic blue. NOT! Not a big fan of the Cobra "R" style wing. Go with a Steeda race wing. Save the "R" for the fox, Mischa. Just put it on the roof and drive around Hillsboro so you fit in with the ricers. Let the asskickin' commence! Just kidding!

I like the R wing, I would get one for mine if mine wasn't a vert. The Steeda wing is pretty sweet too though.

Only reason to put a wing like that on a car is if you have to push it a lot and have back problems. It will give you a more upright stance when pushing.

leave the shopping cart handles to the hondas.

no wing! but if you're going to go with it, leave it red! might as well make it look as rice as possible.

If it is functional, and you track the car, then I would say it is okay. Otherwise I'd skip it. But it's your car, do what you want...

I like it wingless as well.

like Dave said, if the wing is functional, great. Otherwise toss it.

I am not a huge fan of replica cars anyway. Make it "you own"

Those wings probably add a full 10 lbs. of their shipping weight in downforce.

NO WING

The R wing is disgusting on anything but a Cobra R in my opinion. The car has great lines, do not mess them up by putting someting on the back of the car that totally does not fit but ruins the lines of the car

IF you put that wing on, all the attention will immediately be drawn to it, where as if you keep it wingless the attention stays on the the wheels and stance of the car.

Cobra R wing on non Cobra R's =

I've never loved the wingless look IMO, although I never seemed to dig the Cobra R wing on anything besides the real Cobra R. I think the 99-04 models can pull of not having a wing better than other years, but I would say put a s-281 wing or a Steeda wing on it. I'll be planning on putting the steeda wing on sometime in the future, after I work on other matters first. I just can't stand alot of new cars with out wings....old classics look goofy with them. That's just my opinion. Many people like the wingless look and hate wings....I personally think otherwise, and feel that the wing gives the rear a much more balanced look from front to back, just my 2 cents.

No wing and use the Bullitt side scoops to really clean it up. The Cobra R clone also needs to go back to the original sidescoops as well.

Wingless, steeda, saleen, etc... something subtle (imho).

I have seen the *cough* 2000 gt-R *cough* at the starbucks over by my place several times, .... to each his own. If he's gonna keep it like that, can't ya talk him into getting the hood too? The whole R-wing with GT hood scoop is kinda like brown shoes with a black belt.... know what I mean?
