Mine has not had the recal and is not a vin number car to get it done, that does seem to be some kind of plugin piece ford puts in there. I re-read my post and I did not mean to come off as an ass (sorry if I did).

NO biggie, I found out the hard way when I had to replace mine. That was a fun fast $150+ for the part alone.

Shouldn't be... Just make sure you have a huge auxillary cooler as it would be your only cooler for the tranny. Othet than that, I don't see a problem with it.

You would probably be better off using a aux. cooler anyway. You would have 2 indepen. systems so lets say you pop a rad. and overheat, the trans will not cook itself. Also the rad. heat will soak into the dex and flat out a cooler trany the better so why not just by-pass the whole rad. anyway.

Ahh, I was wondering why you had that on you're fan and mine doesn't, guess I haven't had the recall called on mine.

No recall on mine either, so I guess I would have 2 inch clearance. That's great news! Guess I found my winter project.

I'm glad you posted this, YellowBoss. I am gonna be getting that same radiator soon because my Fluidyne practically exploded and can't be fixed because its leaking from so many places and my stock one can't keep up....oh and its cracked too but not as bad as the Fluidyne. BTW, the Fluidyne conked out on me when my motor was stock....I have no idea why, but it was out of warrany so i couldn't get it replaced for free. $360 for a radiator that only lasted 2 years = not cool I hope this Summit radiator holds up better. Don't get me wrong, the Fluidyne worked like a champ before it cracked up. Ok, I'll shut up now. I had to vent.

Anyway thanks a lot for posting the pics of your install because I was wondering how I was gonna install it.

After all the good info I've gotten lurking in this forum for the last couple of years, I'm glad I can finally post something useful.

Anyway, the Summit radiator looks like it's really good quality, and I certainly hope it lasts more than two years. That's one thing ya gotta say for my stock rad; it may not cool worth a damn, but it did last for nearly 10 years!

No problem. I've only been doing my own work on the car for about two years, so there's still plenty I don't know. And now that I know what to search for, I'm sure I'll be able to find tons of info about it on here.

how can i tell if my car is under the recall or not?

A dealership should be able to run your VIN to see if you're under any recalls. There may be a way to check it on the web, too, but I don't know of any off hand.
