i just finished rebuilding my transmission, installing a cobra clutch, full o/r exhaust and all the fun stuff to go with all that. wow . anyway im curious how other people have gotten that goddamn pilot bearing out of its hole i had to get pretty creative it involved a dremmel, vice grips and a crow bar:nonono:

I did this yesterday. I packed the cavity behind the pilot bearing with grease and put a 1/2" exension in the hole and hit it with a hammer. After the extension bottoms out, refill with grease and do it agian. It took me 4 or 5 times but it popped out. I used to think this would not work, but it did. They also make a tool you can rent from Autozone.

I had zero luck with the grease hydraulic method, just go use a pilot bearing/seal removal tool....it is less of a mess and you wont swear as much

I bought mine for like 30 bucks...my was made by KD tools I got it from pepboys
