I think your problem is more of an octane problem, not a fuel amount issue. I would try taking out a degree or two of timing and see if that helps. Or you could always run a higher octane fuel.
What's the mileage on your car? Might be time to run a can of seafoam though it. Carbon deposits can sometimes gum things up on the top end an cause pre ignition like what you're experiencing. Pulling a degree or two of timing out of your tune like Tim stated will also likely cure your problem though.![]()
Before you guys with K&N FIPK Gen II CAIs do anything else, you might think about replacing that intake, or at least going back to the stock setup for a test. My GT made decent power with the K&N but also pinged like crazy with it.
I've got a JLT on it now and just don't get the same rattle anymore.
Mine did it before I put on the gen II. I notice it pings mostly when I have a passenger with me. If it’s just me it doesn’t seem to ping much at all.
