My car started pinging at WOT, it doesnt do it if i am in the lower rpms but if i am crusing along at around 3k plus and punch it it pings pretty bad for a second then stops. I pulled the codes and got 81 83 84 85. I looked all of these up an they all deal with the EGR/smog stuff. I dont have any of that installed on my car. It wasnt on there when i bought it so i didnt bother getting it since i dont have to have my car smogged. What could cause this? I put new o2's Tps, ACT, ECT. sensors and i am dont guessing on what is wrong i need any ideas. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator? It still is the stock on and i dont know if it can keep up. with the instant rise in fuel demand.

I tried different octanes and different timings currently it is set at 10* and i run 91 octane. I would hope this is enough octane to keep it from pinging but no. Would a fuel pressure regulator cause this? It basically is the only thing left that controls the fuel supply, that hasnt been replaced. I am open to anything.

Not having that stuff there would cause it.

The EGR is pretty important. Won't explain how it works here but it's better to leave it be. If you delete it, you really need to get a tune to adjust the fuel curves because cars with deleted EGR's tend to run lean and experience detonation like you have just described

the problem is that i have nothing of the things. When i bought the car it had nothing, how would i shut off the EGR? Would a tweecer work on it? I need some help on this...I hate smog:mad:
