Well, my motor sounds like paint cans.

On my 96gt (111,000miles), I can't give it any gas or it sounds like marbles in the motor. I've tried seafoam about 4 times, did FI cleaner, sprayed out the maf, put in some gas moisture remover and still no improvement.

I bumped up to 89oc and it still does it. Then I tried 93oc and it doesn't do it nearly as much, but every once in a while I'll still hear it.

What else can I do? Is there anything that I can manually clean out (like on the cobras the imrc's can be cleaned)..? I have new plugs - motorcraft gapped right, and a clean air filter.. I can't think of anything else..

What can I do!

try this

View attachment 473136

i use it for all of my engine troubles, lifter taps etc

Marvel Mystery Oil can be added to gas or oil. It combats internal motor rust and corrosion, lubricates valves, piston rings, upper cylinder walls, and eliminates valve sticking. Keeps rings free and reduces piston and cylinder wear. Also keeps fuel pump and carburetor parts clean, eliminating the need for frequent adjusting. Marvel Mystery Oil retards formation of power dissipating motor deposits, such as gums, varnish, and sludge.

you can pick this stuff up for 3 bucks at wally world

the directions are a little skewy, i usually add about 4oz to my oil, i usually start with only 2 and add the last 2 if i need it. however for you, you might need to add more

np, make sure u dont overfill it! good luck!

assuming you will have to use more than 4oz you will probably need to change your oil afterwards so try using it around the time your gunna change your oil

So.. add it to my oil, then change the oil What would that do that seafoam wouldn't? It'll lube while it's in there, but won't once it drains out..?

i guess you could leave it in, ive never been in that situation where i had to use more than 4 ounces. its not like its seafoam, so i guess it really can stay in. basically the directions say to add a quart to your crankcase oil, in this case with the pic i posted would be the whole bottle....thats a lot of additive/replacement liquid lol

Do you have a chip or timing adjuster? If not,
change your fuel filter and if that doesn't help, have the fuel pressure checked. If that still doesn't help, check your egr.

It is probably just a case of carbon in the combustion chamber raising the compression.
The only way I know of positivly removing 110000 miles of buildup is removing the heads, cleaning the pistons and having the heads rebuilt.

I think Ford has some type of decarbon process they use for bad carbon build up in engines. I don't know how well this works. Maybe SVTTech will chime in. But make sure everything else is working ok as mentioned by Canadastang. Pearl02.

While it is possible that carbon build up would cause this, the chances of it actually being the cause is very remote. With todays clean burning engines it's very rare to have this happen to this extent, unless it has oil consumpion problems, excessive rich a/f condition or sits idling for hours at a time without ever being driven on the highway.
