Hello fellow stang bangers. Heres the scoop. As a lot of you know, I have 2 chamber flowmaster on my 93 hatch with no pipes out the back. I got the car this way and haven't gotten around to purchasing some. First question, does lack of tail pipes greatly affect hp and low end performance and if so what size would you recommend? Secondly, again as many of you know, I am trying to crack low 13's or high 12's. I have recently ordered 3.73's. I have an explorer upper and a cobra lower intake and am wondering what heads and cam (e,f or stock) work well with this combo. Also, how paramount to my cause is the maf, tb and rockers initially. I am giving thought to an a or s trim s/c but would like to reach my goal without a power adder if I can. Thanks for any and all info, as usual you guys are a wealth of information. :)

Having no tail pipes will not effect how much power your car makes at all... if so, maybe .5hp. I bought 3" tailpipes for my coupe but i wouldn't go any bigger. 2.5" is perfect on an LX, 3" looks sweet but any bigger looks like garbage.

I would leave the stock cam in, and go with thumper ported heads (best bang for the buck), 65mm throttle body, and a maf 70mm or bigger. 1.7 roller rockers would help the stock cam as well.

All that with an explorer intake should net you 13's easy!!

Thumper is a guy on these boards.. he has his own little thing, porting heads for everyone. Im sure someone will chime in with his website that has different combo's of valve springs etc. and prices. Around $800-$1100 though i believe.

Are you posititve that you need p specific headers with the gt40p's. Several others have told me to go that way and never mentioned the headers. Maybe they just figured I already knew.

yes GT40P heads work only with certain headers. Or you an say only certain headers work with GT40P heads :)

Well, If I get the gt40p heads and leave my stock cam, use my explorer upper and cobra lower and install 3.73's what is the potential of me tagging some low 13's. Its weird you know. Some guys on here have setups that you swear would run like raped apes and in their sig it says something crazy like 14.8. I know a lot of that comes from poor 60ft times. Then on the other side of the coin, I've seen setups exactly like what I am looking at going with that people have ran 13.0 or 12.90 with control arms and tires. :nice:
