I am going to put dual pipes on my 93 n/a. Now I have seen pics on here where other owners have put them on there cars. What I want to know is, where does the Y pipe go? In front or behind the trans? Do I have to remove and relocate any brake or fuel line's/ filther? I am a welder so I can weld the pipes myshelf. What would be the best size pipe to use? 2 1/4 or 2 1/2? The car is a automatic . Thank's for any thought's

Theres a thread on this on 2.3L Talk also if want to check it out under "Duals" I think.

I believe the "Y" pipe goes just after the cat. As for pipe size if its a stock 2.3L I wouldn't go higher than 2 1/4 ID. Also you can delete that pre-cat deal just up by the ehxuast mainifold. If its going to be a N/A car I would go ahead and hunt down a Ranger header also :) Now DON'T BUY your mufflers etc from a muffler shop, look through ebay or Jegs you can save some money that way exspecaily with duals :nice:

As for relocated stuff I think there is a brake line on the rear end that needs pulled a side with a wire tie of some sort but I would double check that. Also keep a eye on the gas tank , you can never be to sure ;)

i just took my stang to the muffler shop , bought 2 flowmasters on ebay for $100 and paid like $200 for a custom made y pipe and installation of the flowmasters w/tips and everything ( also took out the cats :nice: )
i know it's a little expensive for all that but here in miami everything is expensive, i'm sure if it would have been in iowa or somehting they'd do it for half of that or less.
