with the 2.02 heads i am getting i will probably have piston-valve interference.

has anyone used the tool to notch pistons with the shortblock assembled??

it seems like it would be a PITA and take forever to do it. i'm guessing its just a cutter that fits through the valve guide and cuts a clearance in the piston, how can you monitor the depth so you dont take too much metal out??

and if anyone has it would anyone be interested in letting me borrow it, i dont really have the need for this tool so i dont want to pay a jack load for a specialty tool.

Use the isky tool, i didn't use it myself on my car, but i was there when the guys did my car with it.
It's a bit on the tedious side, but it's very effective.
As i said in your other post, a couple cranks on the tool goes a long way.
Make sure the piston is all the way up, because if it's even a hair off, it will cut in the wrong place.
You will need to the tools to measure the actual clearance, and to take the valves out of the heads.

BTW, if you remove way too much material, your engine will have very little life expectancy.
