I have two roller cam 5.0 engines. One came out of a 88 Mustang the other out of a grand marque. The mustang pistons have a bigger ring. If I was to re ring the Grand Marque engine what would I need to order. I thought all 302 pistons were the same when it came to ring thickness.
what year GM?? If in doubt... remove one of the GM rings and mic them... or take the piston and ring to a machine shop and get their answer... the 302/5.0 do have different ring sets and ring grooves at different times of mfg...
The best way to to remove and ask a locl shop... there are too many variables for any one here being able to help...
