Im planning to remove my smog pump and drop all the smog crap, any precautions, or things i should worry about before doing it. I know the smog pump siezes up when not in use, but any other dangers of taking all the smog stuff off? Thanks in advance.

WHY!??? You gain next to no hp. Plus if the state you live in has emissions or visual inspection you will more than likely fail. Ford uses a 3 stage cat which requires the thermactor to be useable for the oxidation stage.

Why? For one if your running a midpipe with no cats then there is no reason at all to have a smog pump. 2 - You can get all that crap out of the engine bay and it looks so much better. But on the other hand if you have to pass emissions then I would definitly leave it in there, you would probably fail visual of it was all missing Again, it really depends on your particular situation, and even if I did gut it all (as I'm planning to do) I would hold on to everything incase you have to make it legal.

If you include the EGR in stuff you are removing, it will cost you mpg. The EGR has a cutout during full throttle so there is no performance gain.

I pulled mine out with no problems. My main reason was weight, not power- that crap is heavy and my GT is fat. I pulled out most of the pipes and stuff too, putting it all back would suck. My gas mileage actually improved- and it was a brand new pump from Ford. We have no visual inspection in this state, so I'm not worried- and I just ran it through emissions two months ago. I don't want to hear you need a smog pump to go through clean, that's bull. I put the stock H pipe back on and went through with flying colors, over 250K on my engine and no smog pump. If you have a visual, I wouldn't pull it- otherwise get it the hell and take all that other crap with it. Now- that's assuming that you pull your factory H out and run an offroad pipe between sniff tests. You don't want to mess up those cats, their becoming hard to find.

So did I. One of them STB this year, and I'm down to one. Good thing it only gets used for a week every two years!
