Ive heard only one bad story about it involving a cobra, anyone have any negative input? Just wondering if it would be a worthwhile gain for just a normal bolt on type gt. Thanks...BTW Dan, your car owns...

I'm with you. I would like to know if there are any risks or negative results in installing one of these on a regular bolt on car.

Me too, Me too. I am interested in the plasma booster. The only I know of, is a guy I have met a few, who has one in his 03 Cobra. I did not talk to him in depth about it though. I will click on the links above to read some more.

Anyone out there running a plasma booster on their GT's that wants to chime in?

Edit- wanted to add this http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8driveshaft.htm

Edit II - I guess I pretty much regurgitated info already posted above. My question about still stands about N/A stangers running this...

Here is one of many threads on the Plasma Booster:

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=475528&highlight=plasma+booster

I'm N/A and like mine. I experienced similar results to what Dan reports.

well i had one on my last mustang (98gt) & it seems to work pretty well. there were no substantial power gains from it, but it did smooth out my idle & made it accelerate smoother

if you are looking for a power mod, this IS NOT the thing for you. if you need something like it & have the money to blow on it go right ahead, it does help. but again it should not be looked at as a power mod IMO

Yeah I figured as much. I may do it down the road, if it would also be a plus with a S/C. I have nothing against having a smoother powerband, but want some rwhp to show for money spent.

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=399569

That is a link to a thread within the thread linked to Corral above us. Same guy over there says, bottom line he had a net gain of 1 rwhp on the dyno.

Where I am at, is going to do the Accufab 75MM T/B- Plenum combo in the next month or two, and after that, there is not much more I can do (plan on getting S/C) other than a mid-pipe. Was HOPING for something like a quick little 5 rwhp gain like a 255.00 dollar plasma booster.

Hi Dan,

Is the Plasma Booter something similar to the Boost-A-Spark by KB? Was there any particular reason you were in need of boosting your ignition system? As far as I can remember (I might be wrong) Ken told me that the BAS is not required unless you go over 11 psi of boost with our supercharger kits.

Regards,
Jorge

Hey bro!! Long time no see!! I went with the plasma booster vise the BAS because the BAS only activates under 3psi min. boost. I was having some hitching issues under light throttle that I believe was caused by the rich tune, and large gap in the plugs. I wanted to see if a little stronger spark would fix the problem, and it def. did. I also noticed that the throttle response is much smoother. I basically wanted the full spark all the time. thats why I chose the Plasma Booster.

bolt-on 98gt = THE lose!!!! Bro, when you break into the 12's, or break the 300rwhp mark then you can comment. All I was saying was that my hitching problem is gone and the car runs much smoother. Please don't respond unless you have something intelligent to post.

um, no you didn't. Last time I checked, pulling hard = more hp. I would expect somone with the power to make an 11 second pass to understand that.

I know damacman had good results with his plasma booster on a n/a setup, but does anyone have any "consistent" before/after track numbers on a n/a vehicle with the plasma booster ? I'm just curious. The mod does seem nice but it still costs over 200 dollars and then you have to install it so thats why I'm curious before I go and drop that kind of money on it.

Did not see good results on a Lightning pick up..........

Suppose to lessen the chance of spark blow out.........

Would have to see what a dyno says, cause dyno can show miss fire (spark blow out)

Dude, YOU are the one who quickly ran to this post and decided to piss on it, and now YOU are wondering why Dan fired back? Go back and re-read the original post, then your post...what is your deal, anyway? Can someone not share their excitement over a new mod without YOU feeling the need to put them down?
Oh, and, by the way, I have priorities too - I am supporting my family, in our modest 3BR house in a great neighborhood, with 2 car garage (and a pair of GTs in it!) and a pool out back!

The plasma booster works quite well. It made more sense for me to put it in because I have a very well flowing intake tract that made me a little lean; the ignition booster really helped some pinging I was having, plus it revs much more smoothly. Its worth the cost.

Based on Dans Dyno results i may be getting one for my Cobra....and once i get my Kenne Bell kit we'll see who gets owned...by the way Joels'98GT it doesn't take that much money to go fast if you spend your money in the right places and do the work yourself like Dan and I and the rest of us in our club.

And you don't need more HP to Pull harder they make these things called gears that will make your car pull harder

Money for the family - I spend what ever i want to on my car because i can afford it and still pay for my house and support my wife as does Dan
