I just bought a plasma booster ignition. Is it worth using or should i send it back? other mods to car are accufab plenum/tb, steeda udps, k&n cai, diablo tuned, mrt h-pipe and borla stingers.Andersonmotorsports claims its really good and rpm outlet teams it with a diablo predator in the dyno tuned options section.Any input will help...thanks...

I've heard mixed results with this part. Some people have good experiences with it and others have bad experiences with it. Either way, don't expect a huge power gain from it. The most you'll gain is a couple of hp and maybe a bit better fuel burn for better fuel economy. For the amount of money you spend on it, you could easily invest that money in other worth-while modifcations though. How much exactly was this plasma booster anyway ?

fuel economy isnt important if you want it fast :notnice:

This is pretty far from reality. Everyone wants the best compromise they can get. Gas prices will be $3 a gallon soon, then higher.
Where do you want your money going? To other mods or into the tank?
If you build and tune for power and economy then you win both ways.

A lot of our customers commute like I do and drive about 100 miles a day.
That's $40+ a week in gas right now (tuned for 89 octane). This works out to around $2,100 a year.

Changing the fuel economy a little can equal a mod or two a year extra.

In N/A applications, I've found very little gain in numbers. 1 to 3rwhp across the band and not a significant gain in fuel milage. Understanding that every little cent saved does help, but that's a big chunk of change for 3hp and a few cents annually. Time to consider cost over means... However, in a S/C application I found gains throughout the entire powerband with as much as +11rwhp & 14lbft. rwtq on average w/12psi with no other change but the plasma booster.

How about w/ nitrous ya think?
With nitrous, you would definately see some results. Mainly, a cleaner and more accurate nitrous/fuel mixture burn. I'de give the plasma booster a try if I could afford it just to have in on there. However, as stated above, unless if you have boost, you're not going to feel or really see any difference.
