I sold my KB yesterday from the classified ads. I am happy with that. Thanks.
What drove me nuts is the number of interested people in both of my ads that spent hours of my and their time going over everthing and then saying yes I will take it. Then the next day or hour whichever saying that the wife said no.
So basically what I am saying is before going on a fishing expedition and wasting everyones time find out if you can buy what you want or if you have to ask mommy first.

Thanks

What is funny is that everything was very reasonalble pricewise. So then the other guys are calling or texting asking if I will go lower or trade for some offroad bike or you name it. If I wanted a (insert what ever) I would buy it. Then when I answered all of the texts and emails saying it was sold, I could just see their faces..... A GREAT DEAL LOST now they will still get the part down the road and pay through the nose and tell everyone about the one that got away.

I don't like selling parts or cars. I like buying stuff. If I want it and have the money its a done deal. If I don't I don't call, write or ask questions, because I am not a dreamer but a down to earth if I can't afford it I don't buy it.

LMAO, if you really think the reason those guys back out was because "their wives said no", then I have some awesome swamp land in Florida to sell you!

When I bought my house, I put a clause in the offer similar to "subject to approval by parents". When I had a friend this past year buy a house, I told him to put in some other similar vague clause. It's a way for the buyer to back out of a deal when the buyer decides that it's not a good deal, or there are some concerns.

And yes, "my girlfriend" has been the reason why I've not gone somewhere, done stuff, or bought something. I think I even used the "my girlfriend" excuse to turn down a job offer.

BTW, when I bought my house, it was 100% from my own money and savings, and I was pre-approved for much more than what I bought my house for. Unlike many people, I bought within my means.

I mostly get kids, that want the part, send emails, phone calls, etc, and then when comes time to buy the part, they don't meet up with me, or when they do show up, they claim to not have the money or want to change the terms of the sale.

If I sell you something for 100 bucks, and then drive 20 mins to meet you.....you better show up with at least 100 bucks. The minute I hear "well, I only took 75 with me will you take that?" I turn and leave.

i was getting offers on the vert for 4 wheelers and expensive machinery ...no thanks.
No one wanted to spend any money but I ended up with a nice trade.
On the way to do the transfer the guy was saying how his girl complained about him getting rid of his car for mine.

this pisses me off too. A couple months back i was selling off a bunch of random parts through craigslist, and when i'd get somewhere to meet someone, a few of the guys tried to pull this crap. I'd just say, "sorry man, need the money" and either they had it and we did business, or they didn't and wasted my gas. Usually they had the money though. I'm 26 but i look like i'm 18, so i guess they figured they'd be able to haggle me.

FAR from it!

If I think something is worth less, then I'll say so and make an offer.

BUT, if I back out of a deal, it's because I do NOT want to buy that POS cr*p worthless s**** that someone is trying to SCAM people into buying! So, ****-off! Leave me alone, do NOT call, do NOT try to offer that POS sh** to me for less.

Go find some unfortunate person to SCREW OVER selling that worthless cr*p to!

By saying "the wife/girlfriend said no", that's a sure why to get the f**** away from a scammer/scum trying to screw you.

Simple basic fact of life. If people haven't learned the above by the time they are ~25, they are likely slow or have had very limited life experiences.

BTW: For the people that disagree with the above, I have another plot of awesome Florida swamp land to sell, just let me know! CASH ONLY!

BTW, if the OP was selling a blower (KB == ?Kenne Bell?), then any smart buyer would consider a lot of things after meeting the seller in person. Any smart buyer would think about for a while, and then consider how much "faith" they had in the seller, and the blower and parts.

The same is true for cars, and many other purchases.

For people that do decisions "by the seat of their pants", I STRONGLY urge you to buy the swamp land I'm selling before someone else grabs it first!

Ive got no problem with people backing out of a deal, thats life and stuff happens. but when you say you will be at a certain destination to meet me then call after the time you are supposed to be there and tell me your lady friend said no you are just a A-hole and a spineless turd. i had a guy drive 3 hours to buy my bike then try to low ball me on it $500.. bet that was a long drive home lol.

I've learned that it's better in the long run to buy without asking. Sleeping on the couch with no luvin for a few days is much better than missing out on a sweet deal.

When that line comes out and about you know there wasn't interested in the first place. I think it's one of the all time lamest way to put the wife in the middle. To me buy first pay the consequences later they only stay mad for a little while.

Well lets see the first response to my first post was positive and I figured there was some agreement with my statement.

Then you state that my Kenne Bell is a POS and that I am bothering people to buy it. Thanks

I did not call people and ask them to buy it, I placed an ad here and stated the facts. People who called and there were quite a few, I spent the time to explain everything I could and referred them to Kenne Bell to ask any questions I could not answer about their application. I expect people to try to get a better deal or offer trades, that did not bother me. Its when I am told done deal and will send money PayPal the next day and then backout 2 days later with the wife excuse and I do believe that is what happened she said no and he begged but she won and he finally called and apologized. If he wanted out he could have just not contacted me again I was not going to hunt him down.

I hate buying used parts, I always run into the sellers who like to "exaggerate". A while back, I was looking for a used set of wheels/tires for the drag strip. One seller had a 4" bend in his wheel, another had his drag radials worn down to where there were belts showing. BOTH sellers told me their junk was perfectly usable and in good shape. The guy with the worn out tires even told me there were at least 3 or 4 more passes left in the tires, even after I was standing right there looking at them.
