Remove rear sway bar. Unbolt the shocks and quads (if 1983 had them) and then lower rear down by center with a jack. Don't stretch the brake line. When you get it low enough. Push down on one side and remove the spring by hand

i have an extra column from an 85 that i was going to toss in the trash its complete minus steering wheel i have no use for it
