Please Help..97 Cobra Sparkplug Holes Filled With Oil!!!

I recently purchased a 97 cobra with 88,000 miles on it. Today i pulled the spark plug wires on the driver side to check if my plugs were good and all the holes were filled with oil. What causes this and is this a common problem? Is it something major? You guys are my only source of info because none of my freinds own stangs(their loss), and the Mustang specialty places in Sacramento dont want to help u much unless your spending money. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As long as the spark plugs are all tight in the head then their is nothing serious to worry about. Some Ford DOHC engines will do this. The problem is a leaking valve cover gasket. This job you can handle yourself, I wouldn't pay anybody to do that for you.:flag:

Take care of it. Spark plug wire boot rubber or Coil on plug rubber boots plus oil equals swelled rubber. Eventually you will have a misfire. Just needs the gaskets

Just change the valve cover gaskets which have the plug seals on them. I would clean the plug boots thoroughly as well and double check to make sure no oil got on the plugs.

I have changed a few 2.5 DOHC Probe GT valve cover/plug seals.
