When I had my car dynoed, it made the following number:

263rwhp
331rwtq

http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-media.cgi?1770+3

This is really low for my current 331 w/all forged internal combo as listed in my sig.

I just bought a Comp Cam xe274hr and will be getting a Trick Flow Track Heat upper intake and off road h-pipe shortly.

With these additions will I be able to see 300rwhp and not lose any torque?

Keep in mind that my aode robs lots of the power.

Thanks in advance.

what kind of Dyno do they use??....that is kinda low....id try and figure out where the power is now before spending more money on new stuff....i understand that the AODE robs a lot of power but THAT MUCH?....after adding my underdrives and getting her strapped to a Dyno im hoping for 240-250 RWHP....so that would mean with 29 more cubes, heads and a cam your only looking at 10-20 more to the wheels than my stock H/C 302?? thats impossible.....something has to be up....

Those numbers were from a Dynojet...

I think the low number were because the cam I had in there was way too small plus the intake I had on there was only good up to 5500rpms.

I'm hoping after putting the track heat intake, xe274hr and off road H on, the numbers will be more respectible.

Does anyone else have any input???

So you had the stock h-pipe on when you dyno'd? That 331 could use a bigger cam, I think that xe274hr is mid .550, right?

You are right... I think the lift is .545 .555

I had a Bassani catted x pipe on.

I've heard that the xe274hr should be just right.

What kind of cam is in the car now (spec-wise)? Even the stock cam should be putting out more power than that, so something is wrong. A/F looks alright. Does the car sound right in the mid-RPMs? The torque peaked too soon to nose dive like it did, and the horsepower stayed flat like a torque curve. I wouldn't worry about it too much, for several reasons.

A dynojet MEASURES torque, and CALCULATES horsepower. Something could have been fudged in the calculations. The AODE with a nice converter like you have isn't going to rob too much more power than a stick car would. If I were a guessing guy, I would think that the torque would be somewhere in the 340 area. The motor like you said, is under-cammed. You probably lost a few ponies from the catted H-pipe. You could have picked up a few ponies with the timing.

The peak numbers are good. What doesn't look good is the graphs, which make me wonder if the dynojet is screwed up. If the car feels nice and strong throughout the revs up to ~6k, I would blame the dyno .

werd.

That must feel pretty 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'ty to spend all that time and money to only end up with 260.

i would say get it dynoed somewhere else.

Did you run the 13.6 @101 with the 331 settup? If so, those #'s, along with the dyno #'s would lead me to believe there is another issue somewhere.

Yes the 13.66 run was with the 331 in place... the car is in stock trim along with 18" wheels. Since it's a convertible, it's a tank and must weight over 3800lbs including my fat A$$ ( I weight 240).

The cam specs are as follows:

Lunati L51014

RPMS 2500-6000

Duration In/Exh 284° 292°

@.050 In/Exh 218°/226°

@ Valve In/Exh .500"/.510"

@ Lobe In/Exh .312"/.318"

112° Sep 108° Int C/L

I runs great and sounds fine to me so I don't what else it could be other than the cam, intake and cats are screwing things up. The guy that put the engine together
(Bob Johnson) is one of the best engine builders here in Northern California and the guy that tuned the chip is also one of the best around here (Byron Reynolds).

I was at the dyno with another guy whose numbers seemed to be right on with his supercharged 306 combo (440rwhp) which lead me to believe the dyno was pretty accurate. I may try somewhere else next time though.

It does suck to spend all this money and and only have 260rwhp. When all said and done, I'd be happy with 325 to the wheels and mid 12 second times.
