I am changing brake pads on my 2001 Mustang GT. I changed the front pads and had no problems whatsoever. Then I changed the rear brake pads and am having problems. I got the new pads on and I think I got the brake piston screwed all the way down and now I cant get the caliper to fit over the new pads. Its almost like the pads are too thick. How thick are the new ones suppose to be? The brake piston is really hard to turn, how do you know when it is in far enough? I followed every step in my Mustang Haines manual. What am I doing wrong? Anybody else have problems with rear brake repair? I am getting really frustrated and I had to quit for the night because I ran out of day light. Any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

first make sure the E brake is OFF, i happens.

If that is not it, kep screwing it into where the ruber boot is flush with puck.
Make sure the tits on the pad are in the holes on the puck.........

when you think the piston is screwed in enough, turn it some more. I had the same issue, just make sure those little knobs on the pads line up with the slots on the piston like Cavallo said

Also make sure you have the system open, crack open the bleeder valve.
