hey!
i just finished my camshaft intallation...
crower stage 2 for blower application (with spring and retainer)
on my 99 GT

i've did a few motor's turn at hand
with out any problem


during the installation i've compressed the lifters for easy rocker installation

when i've started the motor, you could ear a "clak clak clak" noise...

is that the sound of discharged lifters?

if yes, how many time for the lifters to be full filled?



the motors seems to run good, started the first time...

When you compress the lash adjusters, you need to rev the motor between 1500-2500rpm for 10 or so minutes to pump them up

i've do ~15-20km at 2000trs...
same sound...

Took mine a couple minutes to sound normal. It scares the poop out of you.

i have removed the valve cover, alls pieces seems OK,
maybe the lifters are too soft for the high-lift valvesprings?

not a mustang, not a v8 and not even a ford but when i drop an oil pan on a 5 or 6cyl volvo engine and put it back together it'll tick exactly like that until i drive it.

i can let it idle all day and even rev it up to around 3-4k and it'll keep ticking till i drive it around the block (pretty aggressively) for around 5 minutes or so. by the time i pull into the shop the noise is gone

i've ~50-60km of driving now, still the same sound...

i have removed the valve cover to see, and theres nothings wrong...

i have the same cams mine where loud for a little while until they filled up with oil great cam though

as mentioned in my previous post, give it a little more throttle this time, start slowly to 3k then gradually increase rpm until the noise is almost non existent, then do a couple of WOT blasts


i assume the oil level is fine?
