Alright well, stoped at the gas station to get gas, car been overheatin a bit, started smoking. Coolant everywhere. water pump been makin noices for a while, and it looked like it was leakin so i figured water pump goin out. Well took water pump off turned the pulley, makes a grinden noice. I figured i better take the t-stat out to make sure and it was stuck closed. So i went ahead and bought a new water pump and 160 tstat, and put them on and same thing overheating. And i mean hot. smoken out of the tstat housing. Figured maybe i messed up and installed the tstat backwards, and flipped it, same problem. I dont even think coolant is reachin the tstat. so what do u think the prob is. maybe stopped up radiator. ohh yea the fan is not kicken on either. dont know what to do. Glad this happened bfore i went to the track, which is where i was headin today.

checked the oil when it happened, no coolant as i can tell. So i dont think its a intake or head gasket. The fan is not working. And when i take the big hose that goes to the tstat off, there is no coolant in it. so i figured it just needs flushed. what do u think.

If the fan isn't working that is a big problem. My fan quit working last week. I checked the connector that plugs into the fan. It had a corroded connection. I cleaned it and the fan works again.

I would try to get the fan working and see what happens.

No it wouldn't cause that but it would definetly cause overheating.

What temp is the car when you are checking to see if coolant is circulating? If its not circulating its either the WP or the t-stat.
