after looking at the diagram by tmoss on how the alternator wires run. i noticed there is a green-red strip wire that links back to the ing. switch. when i did the 4c to 5.0 swap i had to replace all the wires(dash and main) well when i went to strat my car it wouldnt turn over so i ran a wire to the seleniod from the ign. switch to start the car went i turn my key. well will that cause my new alternator to not put out a charge? do i need to track that wire back and fix it ? or does that wire only run from the ign. switch to the seleniod to kick in the relay to start my car? please help i have posted other questions for a few days trying to figure out why my alternator is not charging. i know the thing is grounded and the wire(black-with orange stripe) is good. so is the battery and the battery wire. keep in mind i had the new alternator checked twiced at two different places and the last one had a voltage readout so i seen it was at 14 or so volts. also took off the alternator braket and grinded with a wire brush to make sure i have a great ground for the alternator.also put my 4c alternator on with the wire hardness that came with it and no charge at all. please help !!!
