Please I Need help with timing chains

I believe they call 12 oclock "safe mode" on our motors.. so you should have a problem as long as you match the timing marks up. MAKE SURE the chains don't slip! this has happened to a couple people, and you will take some valves/pistons out of commission.

Generally you want to time the motor at TDC, but as long as the marks are lined up you should be good to go. Once you get the chains, guides, tensioners back on give the motor a couple turns to make sure the chains dont slip.

also, just a side note, if you fold the chain in half, the links at opposite ends are the ones that should line up with the marks on the gears.

also, make sure that the marks on the cam gears are facing in almost the same position. they wont be exact but close. I say this because when I did mine I just assumed that there was only one way the marks on the chain would line up with the gears, but I was wrong. one cam can be positioned correctly and the other could be off by 180 degrees and chains still line up with the marks on the gears. and surprisingly the engine will still run, but only the 4 cyl. on the correct side will fire at the right time.

ask me how I know... lol. at least it was the only wrong way it could be without hurting anything.
