Associated Markings:

K247-045C
No 4611693
No 4261444
PBR

I think that these are Cobra Calipers but I'm not sure. They're too small to be the 99+ GT PBR calipers.

Thanks.

From what I have found they appear to be cobra. LINKY

A weird thing though is that apparently the part number for 99+ brakes is K247-047C, but when I checked on my 01 I didn't see any casting numbers. (I didn't take the wheel off though.

Second number is:

" Disc brake assembly
United States Patent 4261444

Abstract:
The invention provides an aluminium alloy disc brake assembly that overcomes rigidity problems encountered with the prior art whereby the improved assembly is constructed within a specific combination of housing, pad and piston dimensions by which the profile of the housing is circumferentially lengthened and reduced in height, the center of effort of the piston is raised with respect to the axis of rotation of the disc, and the disc pad ratio is reduced."

Third Number:

" Caliper disc brake
United States Patent 4611693

Abstract:
A sliding caliper disc brake including an anchor bracket adapted to be mounted in a fixed relation to a motor vehicle, the anchor bracket having a pair of facing slideways arranged substantially parallel to the axis of a disc with which the brake is to be used, inboard and outboard friction pads adapted to be brought into frictional contact with opposite faces of the disc, each pad being attached to a backing plate and each backing plate terminating at each end in an abutment portion slidable in one of said slideways and a caliper housing including at its inboard end a cylinder in which a piston is slidable, the piston being attached to the backing plate of the inboard pad, a bridge portion extending outwardly and having at its outboard end, attachment means attached to the backing plate of the outboard friction pad, the arrangement being such that on operation of the brakes, sliding motion of the backing plates is guided by the slideways on the anchor plate, wherein the shape of the slideways and the abutment portions of the backing plates are such as to permit the caliper housing together with the back plates to be partially rotated in relation to the anchor bracket about an axis adjacent and parallel to one of the slideways to permit removal and replacement of the friction pads and their backing plates."

So do these calipers fit the same brackets as the Cobra calipers we're used to using for 5 lug converts?

I've got a set of these same calipers but no brackets. What brackets do I require?

Thanks 5L. Do you happen to have a part # for the correct bracket? I see a couple of folks on Ebay selling brackets but the pictures don't match the brackets they're selling.

Safer if I know the part number(s) for the brackets that I need.

i have not found any way to get the front brackets seperatly from the calipers, i went through this a couple months ago when i had failure, ended up having to order a whole new (reman'd) caliper through oreilly's, they have both with and without brackets, but not just the brackets (which is what i needed).

btw, just noticed that is one long run on sentence. sorry, too lazy to fix.

Chuckman...

I'm working with a source for a set of these brackets now. If it pans out, I'll send you a link. Drop me PM so that I don't forget who it was that was looking for them.
