Please tell me this will work

I bought a passenger airbag from a 95 Cobra to go in my 94 GT. I assumed they'd be identical but the mounting tabs are different. One is straight (the old ones) and the new ones are bent down. I'm sure I can straighten them but the guy who sold it to me says he didn't bend them. Heres a link to the pictures of the old and new
