Hi I'm fairly new to cars (just learning), but the question is i have a 88 lx 2.3L stock and i'm leaking a little power steering fluid, just had one of the hoses that goes to the power steering pump replaced. what could it be???

First thing you need to do is clean it up and find out where exactly it is leaking from. If it is from a hose replace it. The only one that cost much is the pressure hose and it is only around $60.00. The other hoses are cheap you just buy a role of P/S hose and cut to length. If it is leaking from your rack I would try some of the P/S fluid with stop leak and see if it helps. If it doesn't unfortunantly about all you can do is replace the rack. They run somewhere around $100.00 and come with new inner tie rod ends as well.

if you look down behind the wheels and see a rubber boot with fluid on it its most likely the rack, I had to replace mine at 100K. they arent very expensive ($100-150) but they can be a pain to put on. they arent difficult, just time consuming. You first need to determine where you leak is though, clean everything go for a drive, and then check all power steering related hardware.
