Hi I had a couple error codes on my mustang... the one refered to the throttle position sensor.... which I checked the voltage on and it seems to be ok.. at
.7volts. If it is getting the right voltage or putting out the right voltage could it just be a faulty throttle position sensor... There are some throttle bodies that come with the spacer and the sensor.. Would that possibly solve my idle problem... Already went through the checklist....

Another thing referes to a error message I got about a air valve or something on the passenger side of the car.. There is two plugs going into the thing I think the error was refering too but there is a plug dangling there that is unplugged and I can't see where it should be plugged into.. It has 2 pink wires and a green wire.. right on the inner well on the passenger side near the firewall... Any help???

You might be able to try pluggin in the thing - you know where the thing is. Well, plug it in.

And for the TPS, you can test it - not the normal test but the other test, you know.

Sorry but as you can see, being as precise as possible is helpful. Posting the exact codes helps folks to see which angle an issue is coming from, and to know which element you're describing exactly.

Your TPS sounds like it's out of the adaptive limit if it's setting a code. You can try to slot the holes or purchase a new TPS (I'd initially do the former, personally).

Good luck.

Hate to jump in here but my mustang has the #12 wire unplugged, do I need to hook it up? The place I think it goes also has a vacuum line that is plugged off tied in with it.

Ive been playin with that damn passenger side solenoid all night. I have minor hesitation at like 1000 rpm when cruising. I got code 81 which was that solenoid and has to do with controlling a valve in the whole EGR system somewhere. There are 2 plugs underneath that little tiny round thing with the red and green vac lines goin into it. Its kinda hard to get in there but maybe thats the plug your referring to. There is also one with a red wire and a green/black runnin from it.

mine is a 91 GT, I looked at the #12 plug and I'm guessing it goes to the charcoal box as it has a plug and vacuum line coming from it that aren't hooked up, should they be connected, if so where does the vac line go to???

The first post I got said "I know where it is so just plug it in...." Ya I know where the plug is dangling but there is already a plug going into that solenoid and two vacuum lines attached to it.. I am assuming that was just from my air con or something cause I deleted it... Anyways I took the solenoid off aswell and hooked up a battery test light and there is continuous power going through the solenoid.. But still getting that error message... Gotta ground that green wire though and see if the solenoid does something.... About the idling problems I have.. i have checked the voltage on the tps and it is about .78 and I really cleaned my throttle body and the Idle air control motor on the side of the throttle body but it hasn't fix anything.. I am getting the error code that my tps is out of range.. The way I look at it is that if I have to spend 60 bucks to get a new sensor I may aswell just replace the throttle body... since most come with the spacer, tps, and iac... So I think I am going that route.. Hopefully that fixes my idle problems... Before I was unable to get the car to idle below 1700.. right now the lowest I have got it down to is 1200.. adjusting the idle screw doesn't seem to be doing it for me... and I know that screws up the tps... which I don't think is working right anyways....
