I've been getting some oil in my intake and I'm almost positive it's coming from the PCV (well hopefully anyway). My question is, can I plug off the PCV and just put a breather cap on the oil fill neck? Will this allow for enough ventilation?

Thanks
Dave

Dont plug the PCV in the back of the intake, plug the nipple on the filler neck and slip the hose back over it. You can just use a piece of electric tape to put over the nipple then slip the hose back on. After that you can toss the breather in place of the oil cap.

So I can't plug the PCV?

And using the breather cap in addition to the PCV will help vent more, stopping the oil from coming up?

Thanks

I wouldnt plug the PCV in the back of the intake. There is no reason and plus leaving it open will only help to vent more.

How about just plugging it with a breather for a couple miles, just to see if I'm still getting oil in the intake? Cause then if I still am the oil is coming from something else; i.e bad valve seat, bad piston rings

Yea you could try that. I get some oil in mine from the PVC, but it is not a lot so I dont worry about it.
