Do I set the point gap before I time my 66 289, or afterwards? If I set the gap before timing, then time the engine, do I need to re-set the point gap after I time it? Thanks for any information about this.
You should set the point gap first, if you have, find, borrow, or buy a dwell meter that is even better. Any change in the point gap will make a change in the timing. Changing the timing however does not change the point gap or point dwell.
