police fan clutch??????? never heard it called that 50resto.com but cheaper at a junk yard.

They were standard equipment on law enforcement stangs so I guess that is how the name came about.

i just hear it called a fan clutch but 5.0 resto is very expensive.

The fan clutch in the SSP's were different than the standard mustang fan clutch. www.mustangparts.com I think will have it.

Is the one from www.50resto.com the same as the one from PPI. If so why is there such a price difference?

Honestly I don't know. There was something about the police fan clutch... like it's equal to the motor at all times. It's like a 1:1 ratio with the motor. Instead of spinning faster only when the engine is running hotter, it spins equal to the motor speed all the time for better cooling? I think it was something to that effect. If you email PPI I'm sure they will tell you exactly how it works. They are good guys and know their stuff about SSP vehicles and parts.

it's just a heavy duty clutch, nothing special. Mine went out and i pitched it, put on a flex fan, works fine and sounds kinda cool.
