Maybe it's me, but I really don't see many sets of factory 16" 4 lug polished aluminum pony rims? I see allot of painted and chrome. Mine came with my car when I got it but, they weren't the rims that came from the factory build. Where they a special order or option?

Or am I just oblivious..haha

Far as I know, they're either aftermarket or they're stock painted Ponies that are stripped and then polished. A friend of mine back in KC had them on his '92 notch and they looked decent on his car (factory silver), although he said they were a royal PITA to keep 'em clean and looking good - chrome or painted wheels are easier to clean.

FWIW, I've never quite been a fan of bling-bling Ponies (chrome or polished). They look a little bit gawdy to me (maybe because the spokes are so broad in width), and dealing with water spots and scuffs is a constant chore. Painted Ponies are the easier way to go and, to me, they look better in most cases.

I thought about polishing mine, but I am going to ditch em. its ironic. I spent years looking for a set that didnt cost 200 to ship to my house and now that I have them I am chucking them for something else.

Interesting, I'm pretty sure they are not aftermarket, but if Ford never made them then i guess they have to be. I'll see of there are any numbers on tonight after work. They are solid aluminim, not painted.
