Well that's certainly understandable, lol. Maybe you should take some martial arts classes before you buy your Stang so you can have some strong self control skills

Well good luck with that. For me, my self control will come from sheer unadulterated fear. I drive a stock '89 2.3L now, and so even if I am cheap and buy a V6 I'll be blown away, and hence afraid for my life . . in the best way possible!

I am with you. I hope to buy a 05+ mustang after college when I get a real job.

The average age of Mustang buyers is 39 years old, and 38% are women. These numbers are probably a bit skewed, though, because Mustangs are first cars for so many 16 year olds, and I doubt they're listed on the title or even insurance many times.

I guesss I'm just about average at 40 and looking at the 05 as my 4th Mustang.

Yeah, I turn 40 in October, which I count as the real 40th anniversary (64-1/2 was just a 65 released early).

The 2005 will be my 5th. Why I got rid of my first one ('66 2+2), I will never know. I guess people do stupid things when they are 19.

I love the rear seat in the S197, reminds me a whole heck of a lot of the 66, with the hump in the middle.

I figure I'll get a GT Premium, run the heck out of it, and when it's ready for new rubber, will think about tires, wheels, and an upgraded rear end.

I always purchase cars used. Ill probably get one in a couple of years if not a vette 05 stang gonna be EVERYWHERE anyhow.

thats my plan also.. just USE the tires until you need new ones... perfectly good waste of rubber

I'm 32. My father bought a brand new 1968 gt 390w 2+2 the minute it hit the showroom floor back in 67-68. When I was born in 1972, my mother advised him that a fastback mustang was no longer realistic for a family so he sold it for next to nothing in 1974. Throughout the years I listened to family and friends tell stories about how fast my dads car was, and how the engine screamed. I have pictures of my dad with his car, and although he never said it, I know he missed her. At the age of 14 I knew my first car would be a 68 fastback I ended up at 16 with a 79 4 banger.
Anyway, as time went on I held onto my dream that one day I would own my dads car. As years went by things such as university,a new wife, our first home, and children were more important things to enjoy than buying my dream car. In 2000 the release of the BULLIT re-awakened my lust for a pony car. Afterall my dad owned a true bullit long before Steve Mcqueen cast it as his car of choice for the film. Once again the practical realities of economic priority stalled my purchase.
Present day- 6 months ago I showed my father the pics of the 2005 concept. His eyes lit up and he could not hide his excitement. HE thinks its the best looking mustang since then. He knows that its been my desire for a long time to own a top'o'line stang.
Back to the topic of this poll, I'm finally, at 32, ready to buy the mustang I want, and my 2005 gt will be making its first stop at dads for his well deserved test drive

I'm 18 and this will be my second car as i'm currently driving a 1997 camry. I am in no way a ford enthusiast or a mustang loyalist. The current mustangs look like **** and kinda plastic when you look at it from certain angles. The fox bodies are just plain retarded looking. However, IMHO the 67-69s are some of most beautiful cars ever made and I guess thats why I'll be getting the 2005 GT this fall. I wanted a 67 fastback when I was 16 but my parents simply wouldn't let me take on the project as gas would be a killer and they didn't like the whole concept of a car with no warrantee. So when i first saw the 2005s in Motor Trend, I was pretty damn excited because of how much it resembles the 60s mustangs. First thing i'm gonna do is replace the grill and stick a duck tail on (hope some aftermarket company will come out with an "Eleanor Kit"
