This is the situation.I had these roller lifters in my Mustang with a B cam. I sold the mustang and kept the motor. Now I didnt want to swap the bottom end to my new mustang so i just put the Heads and Intake on. I left the stock cam in, but used the lifters again they only had like 5k miles on them. Now, when I would start the car there would be this very loud sound, like a thwump thwump, like someone hit the lid of a coffee can. This sound was EXACTLY the same as a time when one of the rockers backed off and came loose. NOW this was only in the first seconds of start up, it made this and wanted to stall. I gave it a touch of gas and then it idled smooth as glass. I could still here an audible click but it wasnt bad lower than a minor exhaust leak, which I definetly didnt have an EX leak. Then as it warmed up and when I got home from going down the street it was much louder. Louder than a lifter "tick" it was still a tick tick but louder than the average lifter that wasnt oiling properly. By the way I dismissed this being a colapsed lifter because when I pulled them out there seemed to be nothing wrong with them. My eye is untrained. So I decided to use them again in my new motor which is on the stand. Based on the info who thinks this a collapsed lifter? Yes or No
