if this is your first car with more then 220 hp and 260tq and want to do any kind of run over passes(unless you KNOW it will at a snails pace) i would siguest you ask people how to drive your car corectly and look for hpde events at sir(pacific racways) before adding more power knowing the limits of your car will keep you much safer then just going out to have some fun driving

Back on topic, I believe you may be thinking of Pony Trails. It's a cruise held in conjuction with The Mustang Round-Up in July. It's a four day event. This year Thursday the 13th will be the open track event at Pacific Raceways. Friday the 14th will be Pony Trails. The last several years have had over 400 cars on a cruise to somewhere, sometimes over the mountains, sometimes somewhere else. Saturday is the judged show at Bellevue Community College, usually about 150 cars. Sunday the 16th is the participant's choice show at the college with somewhere between 1,000 and 1,400 Mustangs in attendance. It lasts all day and is a great place to look at other cars and get ideas for yours and to talk to guys that actually know what they're talking about. There are also lots of vendors dispensing information as well.

Hope this helps.

its not completly off topic i just didnt add anything about the meet and cruise thats held up there and called somthing different then what he/she said. he/she was also talking about adding power to there car and when most people who drive nice cars call "runs" "over passes" usually means more then just the sugeted "yellow speed signs" around the coners.

Nowhere in zerogt's post does it say anything about "adding power to there car". It sounds to me like zerogt is looking for a gathering of Mustang folks to get information from. Nor is it implied that this is their first car, just a first Mustang.

"when most people who drive nice cars call "runs" "over passes" usually means more then just the sugeted "yellow speed signs" around the coners"

What the hell does this mess translate to?

I believe scoobs was referencing zerogt's signature, when he addressed the issue of adding power. The large, run-on sentence from him that you quoted, can be translated as follows:
"Most people, who drive nice cars, refer to "runs over passes" as much more than taking mountain corners at the suggested speed limit."

Okay just to clear everything up, I'm a cross over from the import camp so if I mess up the terminology, blame my roots. As for cars, I'm actually dissappointed with the stock Mustang GT. Basically because I'm used to more power from my Nissan 240SX, but who's counting. I didn't cross over because of power gains, but because I like the domestic stuff better.

I was refering to the pony trails. I have a friend up here that runs a fox-body that does it. It's a blue GT that has a checkered flag running accross it.

As far as the gender thing goes, I'm a 24 year old guy. Sorry to get your hopes up there Scoob.

As far as the power adders go, I'm interested in all types of car modifications. I prefer to start at the engine and work my way out. I like to do lots of homework on stuff so I don't end up in the all to familiar position of getting ahead of yourself in a build up and causing more problems than it could ever be worth.

it was a ghetto looking 89'. engine swaps are the way to go on that side of the house. I was just tired of having to look at the cost of dropping in a new power plant everytime you want to make a fast car. so I thought a V8 GT would make life a lot easier, oh, wait...

So I guess until I find a rolled 03-04 Cobra that I can use as a suitable donor, I'm just going to be rocking the car stock. I'll do a CAI and exhaust to make it sound cooler, then that's it. So what is a good sounding exhaust you can run on an everyday driver?

Thanks for the info on the Pony Trails. I'm definatly interesed in this, if I'm still in country then I will be there for sure, since I drive over those passes every weekend there isn't 14' of snow or avalanches up there.

Oh, and what type of BMW are you running Scoob?

As far as the exhaust question goes, thats such an opinion based question. Basicaly there is no correct answer, but I can get you the reasoning behind my choice. I have been an avid reader of a Mustang magazine called 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords. They did an article a few years back with 11 different mufflers/exhaust. The Magnaflow had the lowest db, the least drone, and the second to most power (down by 1hp) which put it easily at the top for me. My father has his Borla CB and loves it, and we both get compliments. It depends on how loud you want it to be and how much power you want to make. As far as x pipes go, you will find more people biased towards bassani. Also their CB's are of good quality and many people run them. Headers are probably the most diverse amongst the stangers, and you wont find one brand that is considered to be the best. Depending on emissions and what not, long tubes generaly always produce more power, but there is so many combos I will leave tha one to your judgement.

As far as stopping with the exhaust and CAI, good luck

I thought you might like that...

I personally dont think I have ever heard a better combo on the modular (96+) than the bassani x with the Borla CB. Cant go wrong there, and in fact cant get any better IMO.

Hell yeah I do. shoot it to me in an email, Bas98stang@yahoo.com

I like that body style of BMW's. I don't really like to many of their products, but that one is cool.

As far as the exhaust goes, the one I've seen that sounded really great was the JBA, but that comes with a big sticker price. So the Borla or Magnaflow would be great. I have to keep this car streetable to some degree because someone else drives it when I'm in the freaking sandbox. Since I'm changing jobs in the military I'll be in the litter box a lot more, so I'm going to have to tone down some of my original plans.

I would be shocked to see the JBA cost more than Borla, but I have not looked so I MOST DEF can be wrong. As far as the Bassani x and Borla CB go, I cant stress enough. We all like what Ford does to some degree. Have you heard of the Cobra R? Look at the 2000 model. Guess what they chose.... Yep, Bassani X and Borla CB. It is the best sound hands down. Listen to BayBoss's sound clip, but remember his does not have cats and that will make a bit of a diff. My father has cats on his and its a bit quieter. Either way, I can guarantee you will like the sound. It portrays a sound that the pushrod cannot make, which to me is being unique and ostensibly making use of what you have!

That's good info to have.

Wow that exhaust sounds great!!! I'm really diggin it. It reminds me of an ol' mustang sound.

Time to do some research on that one.
