Current radio I have get poor reception - I'm assuming it is the antenna since both radios I have get poor reception - 1 is a JVC the other is Custom Autosound. The antenna I have is an aftermarket telescopic. Just put a cheaper booster in from JC Whitney and it did not make any difference either way. Just curious if other had a similar problem and how you overcome it. thanks

Funny that you should bring this up.

I changed my 67 Mustang to a newer type screw on antenna so when I use a car cover I can put the antenna away, but then I found out that the radio will play without the external screw on portion anyway.

My "foreign" truck has a factory screw on antenna so thought the same thing would happen. Nope, without the antenna being screwed on the radio is mostly static but it does help with the MP3 FM player transmitter by not having any interference while using the MP3.

On second thought, my 67 Mustang radio is an analog version. Hmmmm.

I have been wholeselling car stereo over 20 years now and I can say grounds are very important! The jvc??? Is it dual knob style? do you have amps, cd, etc. reason I ask is because there are several options... and one mandatory. mandatory THROW OUT CUSTOM AUTO SOUND!!! IT IS AS CHEAP AS PYRAMID!!! If you have an amp set up it is not hard to put a decent head unit configuration. You can shoot me an email I can hash out options you have. may be as simple as that cdrom drive you ripped out of that junk computer 2 years ago!!!
