Realized after a while and doing the math, that I'm only getting about 12-15 MPG out of my 2.3 DP 4... plugs and wires are newer, no codes popping up, runs smooth, ect ect
I have noticed that while on the highway, at 65 MPH, I'm running at about 2750 RPM...seems a mite high to me. I don't know if that might matter, but maybe Different rear end gears might help?
I donl't have alot of experience diagnosing these problems in a DP motor...

yah mine seems to be the same as that at that speed. What gear are you in. i know me cruising at 100mph i can only go bout 230 miles before i have to fill up again. not very good gas mileage with the fox 4 banger i find if you really want to get better gas mileage you cant mess around or speed. sorry if my math is wrong with the miles im canadian and everything is in km here. Im just as curious as you about how to get better gas mileage

I manage to get about 200-230 miles a tank.
When driving the highway, I'm in 5th at 2750 for 65mph, and I get these numbers...I don't race the thing, nor do I rev it all that high. I try to keep the RPMs between 1500-2000 at all times, but this doesn't seem to help. I put Lucas oil FI Cleaner in it last weekend, but to no avail.
I'm looking for a CHEAP fix, but apparently those don't exist for the 2.3

that is strange at those rpms that you drive at you should get a fair amount more distance out of it then what im getting, i know for one of my highway trips when i was coming back i did the speed limit and i had about 1/4 tank more then when i was speeding. ill talk to some of my mechanics and see what they say

Those are horrible. My SVO gets around 29mpg highway. Your revs arent overly high while in OD. Your O2 sensor might be bad, every vehicle I have owned when they went out my fuel mileage plummeted. You may want to check plug gaps as well as make sure the sensors are clean and not covered in any dirt or grime...

Im not getting a check engine light on my dash. Could the O2 still be bad w/o a code?

noticed today my engine oil is blacker than the Ace of Spades, so Ill need to change that soon, too

You can get several codes without a check engine light. My car wont throw the light on short of a natural disaster...
