I just think yall give the lsone tooooo much credit with a car that has aluminum heads, 350 cubes, and most of all a vette engine. Correct me if am wrong but the 94-95 302 is a 289 bore out to a 302. Do we have a 351 windsor in our cars I think not but maybe i'm just venting i don't know tell me what yall think.

You make absolutely no sense. No one compared a Stang to a Vette You are wrong, a 94-95 5.0 is a 302 block, and no, save for the 95 Cobra R, no late model stangs have 351's...so what? Most people won't argue that Corvettes are awesome, fast cars.

Yes, Mustangs have less cubes, is that your point?

ls1 isn't bad, its quicker than the 5.0 and 4.6 outta the box. As for the 351W, i don't know where you're going with that.

i too don't konw what's going on.

meangreen94: i'm no expert but our cars have a 302 winsor which is 48 less than a 350. now that's a significant differance and that's why people give them props- because they're faster than our cars unless you have the cobra r which has the 351...

edit: hmm, i guess i was a little late- even though, the camaro still has a larger engine- the ls1 350?

Come on guys what i'm saying is...... that of course we have a 289/302 which the ls1 has a 346/350 thanks for the input (gtphreak) but still yet some people act like ls1 is god when it comes to an engine i know what our cars have i'm saying if we have a 351 in our cars the odds would be on our side stock for stock. I guess thats why we are in business in the ls1's aren't. Bowtie 350 cost tooo muck money to produce.

I would say the body of their cars cost too much money and not their motors. If GM were to use Mustang body's and quality of material, than they might be able to sell them for cheaper thus selling more thus STILL MAKING THEM.

The fbodies come with a solid trans. t56 and the ls1 motor which is awesome, the only weak part is the 7.5 rear. The rest of the car is really no worse than a Mustang.

They post below you is right, Often times F bodies will out dyno or dyno the same as vettes. The motors are the same, they both still burn oil , only major difference is the transmission location, heh. ANd some F bodies did come with LS6 blocks just for your info but not all. I think it depends on the production period.

The 2004 GTO uses a LS1, I guess its a good motor if they still use it. Get your facts straight meanngreen94, and you talk like a company would use the same engine forever, remember ford did switch to a 4.6 in 96. BTW a 289 has a 4 inch bore like the 302 but has a 2.87 inch stroke verses 302 3 inch stroke.

Well then why do you think they charge sooo dam much for one of those cars then? If the quality is the same, wouldnlt the price have been a tad bit closer? Maybe its just me, but their interior is much nicer than ours, even though i prefer ours with smooth floor pans and not HUGE indentations.

Even though the new GTO is fugly on the outside, i will have to give credit to its inside. It looks and feels leaps and bounds better than any stang i have been in, hopefully the 05 stang will change that. But GM puts more into their cars, not saying they are better cars, but if you put more money into something, then you gotta charge more for it which is exactly what they did.

Anyway, guys think that motor is so big and bad because of what it does out of the showroom floor. Sure you can take a stang and stroke it or swap a 351 in it, but its still not stock like a LS1 is even though they are not equipped the same. Just like the 03 cobra......who in their right mind would take a LS1 over an 03/04 cobra? Besides a collector edition for the 02 SS or WS6, 03 Cobras got em beat with ease. Forged motor just waiting for a kennebell or whipple blower, or even twin turbos AND a shot of nitrous. IF you can get that thing to hook, no one will be able to hang and if they do then congrats to them.

Alright enough of this jibber jabber.....

Most people say the Mustang has the better interior The f-bodies didn't cost much more than GT's, I think the base price for the GT and Z28 was within $500 of each other. The SS and Ws6 models with all the options were expensive though.
