Hi.. just installed a 65mm throttle body and egr spacer and at the same time replaced my stock h pipe with a pacesetter offroad x pipe and also put a new set of 02's on. When I start it up it pops/backfires ... not sure exactly where its coming from... its really loud, any ideas??

Typically and correct me if I'm worng but back-firing is usually caused by a lean condition in the engine or to much timing. Since you just changed your TB your I would now think that your probably a little on the lean side and the TB air flow that the computer thinks is coming in is off causing your back-fire.

Thoughts???

so I stupidly put the 4th spark plug wire where the 3rd should be.. anyways fixed the backfire issue..!!! But still have the ticking.. so I guess that rules out the exhaust leak.. thinking it could be the throw out bearing or throw out bearing housing... what a pita.

yeah but does it depend on if you have the clutch engaged or not. still could be an exhaust leak. if your exhaust was a ball and socket type of flange you need to go even and not crazy when you tighten them down.

your right.. still a leak... at the ball and socket flange where the header meets the x pipe. I used silicon and everything.. I heard about a product.. some sort of exhaust wrap for using on the flange.. Anyone use this?

I used a donut gasket to stop my leak. Pick one up at the parts store. Dont remember the size tho.
