Hopefully someone knows. I have this problem, too. I just started when I lowered the car. It wouldn't align, so I took it back to the body shop. They fixed a bent strut tower, then had it aligned. Ever since then, the front end pops, like something is loose. It didn't before the alignment, so I know it wasn't my fault. Maybe I should just quit being lazy and take it back to them.
i know this is old but i just fixed that same damn pop. i went under my car to make sure all the bolts were tight and the transmission crossmember bolts were so lose i could turn them with my hand. so i tightened them up and it fixed the problem.
When my GT was making a poping sound it turned out being the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The first part we looked at was the control arm ( the cheeper of the two parts).
