port and polishing my heads I am wondering if it is ok to remove the small bump on the top side of the exhaust runner about 1/2 in from where the exhaust exits the heads. It is almost a 1/4 in in height and would definetly improve flow if it was not there, I dont know if this is part of the water jacket or what I want to take it out of there but would like some suggestions on the best route to go thanks alot you guys really know your stuff so I trust whatever you say is best. 87' GT w/ stock heads

I didn't get rid of mine due to rules I was trying to follow. I believe it is called the thermactor bump (spelled wrong most likely). Shouldn't be a problem getting rid of it.

Its ok, have done it on several sets of heads, 78 stockers, and iron GT40's.

There is not any water in that specific area but there is water on each side of the guide.

Thanks for the info. I also found an interesting site "diyporting.com"
has some good info dealing with e7 heads. With any luck it will be running next weekend.
