I will be converting and using an Explorer 65 mm TB, and the Explorer intake.
Question is: can I port my stock EGR spacer instead of buying a 65mm unit?
If so, what kind of bits will I need to port it out, or is there anything in particular I should know before attemting to do this?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Tried it once. It's a dumb idea. You will spend far less on Ebay getting a 65mm spacer than investing countless hours trying to get a stock spacer bored 5mm.

I'm with 91RiceKillinGT and Tmoss. The hone will keep things pretty concentric as long as the original bore was good. If I had to do it, I would go with 91RiceKillinGT's route of using a CNC mill. Hell, I could probably code it and cut it in 10min if I had a probe on the mill and the EGR spacer fit well in a vise.

Well, at my brother-in-laws shop, he has a router built upside-down into a workstation, and used 4 different bits and alot of WD-40 to bore the stock EGR to 65 mm, and it's smooth as a baby's bottom! Took about 10 minutes!
