Does anyone have a good experience with any machine shops in New England that could port my stock heads? What would the round-about cost be. What cam will work best? So far I have Trick flow track heat Intake , 70mm TB, C&L 76mm MA, full exhaust 3.73's. Short belt set-up. Thanks

Your better off porting them yourself. The price for porting would be high, and not worth it IMO. Have you check out Thumpers heads? http://www.thumperoforangepark.com

Your running a track heat intake with bone stock heads??? You need to do something. You can port it yourself. Maby try to gasket match the intake side and grind off the egr bumps on the exaust side alone would make some good power.

The thing about hiring someone to port your heads, you need to know if they know how to work the stock castings into something worth while. They will probally charge about the same as thumper, but I gaurantee they won't be able to do a better job. I run thumper's with the spring upgrade and B cam on 1.7RR's and it runs good, but rough, thats because of the cam not heads.

Shoot me an Email... local shops charge by the degree of work. They have too.
Usually just a good gasket match and removing the EGR bump is about 200-250.00, porting the exhaust and doing some bowl blend is around 375-400.00 and PORTING intake and Exhaust, bowl work ( pocket Porting) is anywhere from 550.00 UP!! Then add the Performance Valve job, surfacing the heads, ...blah, blah, blah.. and your around 650.00 PLUS, or add performance springs, retainers ( ruffly another 120-155.00) and stuff and it goes higher..

Usually a home port job will yeild 170-180 cfm on the intake, the shop (Depending on experiance) can get 180-190 CFM, the good ones will pull 200+ cfm, but is all money.

Any gasket matching or port work helps.. with a ton of 5.0s in the 12s on ported heads, that says the power is there, and usually the price is in any budget.

Just me................................
