So I took the stang to the alignment shop today and they check the rear as well as front. The results were not happy said 3.9 degrees of camber and .85 toe in on RR. RL was ok with -.01 camber and .015 toe in. What can cause this? Maybe leading to my vibrations during acceleration?
I second the second opinion! Those machines have to be calibrated every time with every vehicle, if the cal' process if fugded up at all it will show out of whack! I only take my car to a trusted alignment tech. I have a guy who uses a 30 year old machine and it does wonderfully!
X3 here. sounds like this shop is trying to sucker you into paying for repairs you don't need. In this case, for repairs that can't physically be done.
Next time, I recommend watching the guy doing the alignment. If they try to hook up anything to the rear wheels, take your car and get out of there fast. The shop obviously doesn't know what they're doing with a Mustang.
I'm almost prepared to voice the same opinion, except the problem could be a bent axle housing/tube assembly. That is not out of the the realm of possibility. A bent axle would show a range of readings as the wheel is rotated. However, wheels are not rotated during an alignment. So, rotate the wheel and see if there is a wobble. That will confirm or eliminate the bent axle hypothesis.
