possible suspension setup

why not just toss a stock heaton on your car, i know you wanted too...

I do, but 10:1 compession & a stock heaton= a motor that wont last too long... Plus my trans isnt in the best shape so I would have to replace that not too far down the road after that kind of power was in the mix. A stock pullied eaton on a Mach 1 motor can easily put down 450rwhp.

so were not listening to mm when they say that none of their lcas hurt the boxes? they say if you ever drag race the car, ever, to do the xd ones. i know im spitting you their info but how are they wrong? i dont want to hurt that bushing by going to the strip a couple times.

MM reps told me that there Spherical bearings will not damage tq boxes.

I will tell you 1st hand that I have ran the HD versions on my car on regular street tires, & this is driving only on the street, & I have blown out the poly bushings at least 3 times with agressive driving...

I recently swapped rear ends off the mach with a 4.10 rear my buddy had. When I pulled my stock rear, my diff bushings were pretty shot too with only 54k on the clock... Most likely suspension bind I guess?

Im sure thats a huge reason if not all of your problem, get that thing on, you're only 4 months away from knotts, i should have my new welder to get your tabs welded up

shaolin crane, i'm going through your build thread and don't understand what it was you put on the front suspension that pushed the wheels so far forward??? i also noticed you have a MM k-member listed for sale that you said you couldn't use. why couldn't you use that one?

K member? you mean the brace, thats been sold long ago, that brace was for the stock k member, forward offset arms and the k member moved the wheels forward around 2" but thats not what i did to clear the 275's up front

HOLY COW!!! that BRACE is what i was thinking was the actualy k-member. that would explain why, as i was going through several sites, why the MM piece that i THOUGHT was the k-member was sooooooo much cheaper and looked so much different than other k-members. as soon as i read your response, i dug a bit deeper into the MMs site and found the REAL k-members.......SLIGHT difference in price.... :stupid: :bang: DAMN i'm stupid sometimes :D

what was the reason to go with a setup like that?

Why not?

let me rephrase my question.......what benefit is there to have the suspension moved forward. NOT baggin' the setup, just trying to learn what's what and see the advantages and disadvantages of the different components and setups.
