This forums is the best mustang forum, but seems like after the crash last week, the quality isnt the same,, I mean look at all the threads now,, people just start any threats to start fillin it back up...Nothing serious and informing is getting discussed anymore? what is goin on!?? It seems like it's turnin out to an ExCon forum instead of Mustang forum,,,
I hope we will see more useful and fun to read threads soon!(besides this one of course! :D )

peace

:nice:

AMEN!!!

A little irrelevence in Talk is one thing, but where's all the good Tech stuff?

I suppose that part of the problem is that a lot of good tech threads were lost and the originators don't have the time/inclination to re-post.

I wonder if this has hurt the number of people viewing the forums (I'd have to guess so, since the chance of picking up useful info has now decreased).

It's a bleedin' shame, it is.

Why does everyone care about their number of posts? Do you get a prize? It feel like the first grade and everyone's arguing over who has the most gold stars from teacher.

I agree and I have been adding to the goofiness, but I think that since the crash it is like the forum is brand new. and most of the technical stuff that is gone may not return unless newer members post questions since some of the older members have figured stuff out and have solved their issues etc.....

So I am new to this place.............but.........isn't there a separate spot for TECH??? Does this not say TALK.........I did not have a chance to see what it was like before...............am I wrong??? What am I missing??? Everyone keeps saying stuff about EXCON....he only seems like he is trying to have fun......Is this a stuffy website.......no joking allowed? Let me know, so I don't offend anyone.............

Everyone keeps talking about EXCON because this forum just wouldn't be the same without him. He loves his german cars, but he also loves his stang. He's actually a wealth of information (Don't tell him I said so! Wouldn't want it to go to his head).

Almost every post EXCON has made in the last month or so has been pretty funny and fairly useful (vary degrees of both). When he first joined, though, he was came over as a troll and layed it on pretty thick about how crap American cars were/are.

He also created some pretty stupid threads, like the one about how he was in AA and how he liked the cup-holders in the new Mustang for holding his brew (can't remember the exact opener to the thread, but it was to that effect and not one of his shining moments).

He's definately mellowed, however, and does post some damn useful stuff, without all the other crap.

This place aint stuffy, that's for sure. Post away. If you turn it into your personal stream-of-consciousness canvas (posting your every thought!), though, don't be surprised if people get fed up with it.

I think Brads site has a lot less kids wanting to play and is more informative.

ExCon has changed after delivery of his vert that is for sure, I think he really wanted to dislike the Mustang but as he has said he loves it!
his advice on Zaino to me was right on.

dang guy has become the focal point of this spot lately though..pretty funny....

i had completly forgotten about that star stuff till you mentioned it. I know what you mean.

Well, I'm sure tech stuff will improve over time. I'm just glad I got lots-o-info before the crash. I mean what would life be without ZAINO?? Actually, I haven't gotten any, yet. Waiting to use up my Meguiar's NXT...which I'm pretty happy with thus far. And clay - something else on the list. Zaino and clay...I never would'a imagined having such aspirations in life! ~chuckle~

Unfortunately, we lost many good threads that appeared during the time loads of people were taking delivery of their new Mustangs. The crash came at a particularly bad time for the 2005 forums.

We have lost many good and a few not so good threads. We also lost approximately 7000 users. If my entire Stangnet existence was wiped out by the crash, I would be somewhat pissed off about it. Many of the new members to this site join because of the 2005 forums. I hope that these people will return and rejoin the discussion. Many already have.

I am sure that everyone here will help bring this forum back to where we were pre-crash very soon.

I feel that some positive changes occurred as the staff worked to recover from the crash. The biggest improvement was the addition of classifieds in the regional forums. This has been something people have been requesting for quite awhile. If you have not done so, please check out the regional forum for your area.

In addition, the administrators have been working hard to make the format a little easier to use.

One of the things that will help us recover is using the features in your control panel. I have noticed many users that reregistered haven’t updated their location, avatar and signature. A signature that includes info about your car and its modifications help users answer technical questions with more ease and accuracy. I’ve seen boards where the moderators and users are hardcore about this. These boards tend to be very helpful.
