I really want NT555R's for the back when I get my new wheels and tires, I want 315s (not sure about sidewall height and stuff for a 17 inch rim). My question is, would it be really dumb to get them if i won't be drag racing very often? and will they damage anything when they hook? i just love the look of the tire from the back...especially after seeing all the pics today

You'll always be risking your axles with any sort of sticky tires and hard launches, but if you are only getting DRs, and are sticking to the streets mostly, you should be alright. If you get a 10.5" wide rim, get 315/35/17. That will look good, and will keep your speedo correct.

+1...And you wont only be risking your axles, but your upper torque boxes will start getting ******* up too.

yeah maybe I don't wanna do that...how are the regular NT555's? I was trying to get everything from American Muscle because they mount and balance for free...but maybe I should get new KDW's like i have because they're great tires. I was thinking of 17x9 and 17x10.5 anthracite FR500's

Umm... since when has somebody snapped an axle from a Nitto DR?

You won't be snapping any axles with those, they don't hook well enough to do any damage. You can even use Mickey Thompson E/T Streets and won't break anything, unless you do something stupid like using VHT Track-bite with them lol.

There are people who run stock axles with slicks without problems, so don't worry about your axles.. just worry about the rain.

I've said it before, 315's aren't an appearence mod....
with those mods and even w/out gears, 315's just makes for a more expensive flat
