I just purchased a powder coating gun from Eastwood, has anybody here done there on powder coating, if so give me some advise and some of pics of the work they have done. thanks curtis
I powder coat for a living and started out with the EW hobby gun, and it's not as easy as one would think. It is 95% prep though - media blasting, degreasing, pre-heating, etc. Get on the following forums and read, read, read!
That's exactly what i wanna do with my stock valve covers! I'll probably be stuck with rattle can though as i'm too cheap to pay for powder coating. I've had good luck with Rustoleum rattle can stuff though.

man, can you give me a few tips on how you did those valve covers. I got the same set and i was wanting them to look like that. Or i was going to silver vein them.
Well, I sandblast nearly everything I do, so that was first. Then I coated them with a "chrome" powder and cured. Then I laid them flat shot them with a fine textured black and painstakingly wiped the powder off the fins with a small foam paint brush that I dampened with water - yeah, it took a looooong time. Then cure it.
